אֲוַש, אֲוַוש,Pa. אַוּוֵש, (√ אוו, v. אָוָוז; cmp. אוף, אנף, אפף, אופי, אוסי, אבב) 1) to blow vehemently, make noise, shout. B. Mets.86a נשב זיקא וא׳ וב׳ the wind blew and howled between the branches. Ber.50a וכ׳ איידי דאוושו because all shouted, the prayer was not heard.
